We Fell To Earth, the band featuring former UNKLE member Richard File, and Queens of the Stone Age collaborator Wendy Rae Fowler, have announced their first UK live show. It will be at ICA in London on April 21st, the week before the release of their first EP

With the live show consisting of a four-piece multi-instrumentalist band you can expect a musically as well as visually stunning performance. Both the record and the live act promise to rattle all of your senses

We Fell To Earth met when both landed in California’s High Desert. File had replaced DJ Shadow as one-half of the visionary intergalactic outfit UNKLE and was busy collaborating with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Producer Chris Goss on War Stories. Wendy Rae had played bass for the earthlings? and her voice had graced albums by artists such as QOTSA and Mark Lanegan. It was in Joshua Tree’s mythical studio Rancho de la Luna where the two crossed paths for the first time. Rich explains “I realized immediately after our first encounter that we needed to work together.”

The successful result of their collaboration is directly linked to their backgrounds in different musical worlds. File came from electronic dance music and beat crafting; Wendy Rae came by way of full-out rock. The whole experience comes to life on the live stage

Tickets for the live show are priced £10 and can be bought from: www.gigsandtours.com

Richard File and Wendy Rae Fowler are from a different planet, musically speaking.

What began as an informal jam session in LA quickly provided a strong foundation for what would become a full-length album. In 2007 Wendy Rae made the jump from LA to London and since then the two have been working towards something extraordinary.

The successful result of their collaboration is directly linked to their backgrounds in different musical worlds. File came from electronic dance music and beat crafting; Wendy Rae came by way of full-out rock. She explains, “We’re pushing each other’s boundaries. We’re both having to do things in a different way.” Their respective methods complement one another and culminate in a captivating hybrid.

We Fell To Earth utilizes a number of different live and electronic techniques in their self-titled debut. Guided by the diverse sounds of Ennio Morricone, Silver Apples and krautrockers like Can and Faust, the duo drifts through different dimensions by layering mesmerizing rhythms and extraterrestrial tones.

The band will release their full album in 2009. We Fell To Earth’s live debut will coincide with the release of their EP in the early part of the year. With the live show consisting of a six-piece multi-instrumentalist band you can expect a musically as well as visually stunning performance. Both the record and the live act promise to rattle all of your senses.
